History

From sewing machines in Nagoya in 1908 to the plant in Krupina, opened in 2007.

BROTHER INDUSTRIES (SLOVAKIA) was founded in 2006. In 2007 it invested more than €4 million in the building of a former dairy in Krupina and built a modern plant producing remanufactured and new toner cartridges.

At first the plant employed 35 people; by the end of 2007 the number had grown to 100. In its first year of operation the plant produced 400,000 toner cartridges.

Production and employment grew steadily. In 2010 the plant processed one million toner cartridges and in 2016 more than 1.5 million. In 2016 more than 200 people worked at the plant.

The company is among those that significantly influence the quality of the environment. Today it recycles 100% of the empty toner cartridges it receives.

Besides the initial investment in the production premises, the plant regularly invests in production technology – in 2015 it was more than €700,000.

The company recovers 100% of the cartridges it receives: 90–95% are remanufactured, the rest is recycled into granulate. Cartridges of brands other than Brother are sent for energy recovery.
